This is Team St. James’ battle cry
as we prepare to traverse the track at West Brunswick High School May 2nd
& 3rd in Brunswick County’s 13th Annual Relay
For Life Event.
Relay For Life is the
American Cancer Society’s premier fund-raising event. It is a unique
over-night program involving volunteers from every part of the County,
every stage of life, joining together to help fight cancer through
donations, solemn ceremonies and celebrations of life.
Brunswick County’s goal is to raise
$350,000 for cancer research this year. St. James’ residents donated
$84,000 last year and we are targeting $90,000 this year. Brunswick
County’s funded resources include Road to Recovery for
transportation assistance, Reach to Recovery
for one-on-one breast cancer support, and most recently, Look
Good…Feel Better, a hands-on program to address the
side effects of chemotherapy and radiation treatments. The local American
